In the early 1950s, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of blessed memory, began sending rabbinical graduates to campuses to serve as a resource for students. Since the 1960s, Chabad campus centers have opened their doors to every Jewish student regardless of background or level of observance. Chabad campus center programming reflects a tolerant, non-judgmental environment, where open dialogue is welcome, and is a hallmark of Chabad's inclusiveness. At Chabad's campus centers we want you to feel safe to be yourself, and thus enable you to seek guidance with respect to any social, educational or spiritual issue.
Today, full-service Chabad Jewish student centers are found on over 225 campuses worldwide, and Chabad-Lubavitch serves hundreds of other campuses with Jewish resources. Campus, Chabad hosts national Shabbat retreats attended by hundreds of students from colleges around the nation.
Under the auspices of Texas Friends of Chabad Lubavitch, and with the assistance of the “Rohr” initiative, we opened our door in June 2007. Together with our six children, Menachem, Lazer, Leibel, Mussia Menucha and Levi we strive to create a "home away from home" for all Jews on campus. We want to ensure that all Jewish students graduate as stronger, more empowered Jews.
We serve as the Directors of the Chabad Jewish Center at Texas A&M University, located at 201 Live Oak St, corner Eisenhower. (behind La Quinta Inn, at University and Texas.) in College Station . Please come by and get in on the action.
Together we can affect Jewish Aggie life!
