College is a bit like a choose-your-own-adventure book with multiple possibilities and paths. As you navigate the first chapter of campus life, you juggle a sea of new faces, new places and the new freedom of living on your own. It’s super exciting, but also intimidating.
Feeling flustered? No worries! When you see us at Orientation Fair, head our way and say hi. We’re a familiar Jewish connection in the flurry of freshman life. Hanging with us is a natural way to make new friends and fit in. You may still face challenges over the next four years, but you won’t have to do it alone.
Singing and dancing and socializing, (oh my!). Candles and blessings and challah (oh yum!). You’re in for a fun-filled night of food and friends at your college Chabad House.

The start of the semester is a whirlwind as we jump headfirst into our sweetest holiday, Rosh Hashana (the Jewish New Year). Then, without missing a beat, it's Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement), and your chance to start the year with a blank slate. With so many holidays to celebrate, your slate won't stay blank for long.
Celebrating on campus may be different from what you're used to back home, but it's definitely no less fun or festive. Shake the Lulov and Etrog during Sukkos (Jewish Harvest), then shake your body on Simchat Torah (Rejoicing with the Torah). Tu BiShvat (New Year of the Trees), meanwhile, is the ideal time for cultivating your Chabad roots.
Clubs. Causes. Community
Life on campus is busy with tons of social events and clubs (plus, classes and cramming, of course). You may even find yourself rallying in support of a worthy cause or seeking a leadership role.
Chabad on Campus offers tons of meaningful activities and programs for Jewish students in an environment without judgement. It’s your chance to get involved, strengthen your roots, make new friends and make a difference.
Good Food. Great Conversation.
Wherever Judaism goes, food isn’t too far behind. Bagels. Blintzes. Brisket. And that’s not even all of the “B”s. We break bread (sometimes unleavened) during memorable times, both happy and sad. At Chabad, Jewish food helps keeps us personally, intellectually and spiritually connected. Plus, it’s so much better than instant ramen and three-day-old pizza.
Food for Thought.
Knead and braid a lovely loaf at Challah Baking class. Grab a slice and gain Torah insight at Pizza and Parsha. Cooking Club, Grill the Rabbi, Lunch and Learn … our prolific food-related programs nourish your body and soul.
Enlightened Education.
College is an ideal time to grow as a Jew, so check out our vast educational programs, such as JewishU and Sinai Scholars Society. Prefer to do Judaism your own way? Talk to your Rabbi one-on-one. No subject is off-limits. Not even shrimp cocktail.
Exam stress?
No worries. Find Your Chill with Chabad.
Finals. Oy. That about sums it up. But there’s no need to panic. Chabad on Campus is here to save the day (and caffeine-filled all-nighter). Hit the books in our Study Center or fuel up with food and fun at our Midnight Breakfast. Need toothpicks to hold your eyes open? We probably have some lying around. We’ll even deliver a curated care package of healthy treats to your dorm room to keep you calm, cool and cared for.
Campus is more comfortable but Chabad still feels
like home.
Even as you warm up to your roommate, figure out laundry and embrace the routine of college life, it’s nice to escape sometimes. Chabad Houses are the place to go for a listening ear, an open mind and a friendly smile. Missing your family? Chat with the Rabbi, cook Shabbat dinner with the Rebbetzin or play games with the kids. Need a bit of alone time? Pick up an interesting book. Our door is always open.
As your home away from home, we also aim to bring a piece of home to you. If you’re stuck in bed with an illness, or otherwise under the weather, we’ll send some healing your way in the form of Jewish Penicillin (a.k.a. A warm bowl of Matzo Ball Soup). Sharing is encouraged, but not required.

Semester break is the perfect time for an amazing new adventure. A chance to explore your Jewish heritage like never before. Our overseas opportunities put the world at your feet. The question isn’t how you will spend your break, but where.
All good things must come to an end? Nope.
It’s true that time flies when you’re having fun. As graduation approaches, you may be surprised by how far you’ve come. Your Chabad friends have become your extended family. You’re not ready to say goodbye. Sure, you’ve added them on Instagram and Snapchat, but it will never be quite the same. Fortunately, graduation doesn’t have to be the end of your Chabad on Campus experience. We continue to share in your milestones and offer support and programs even after you move away from college. Reunion anyone?
